Thinking of chartering a fast catamaran for your next cruise in the Mediterranean, the Atlantic or the Caribbean – but not sure which model to go for? With the ORC57, you’ll experience a thrilling, high-energy sailing adventure like no other!
In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the key benefits of chartering a performance cruising catamaran like Avel Vaez for your next time at sea.
One of the top reasons to choose an ORC57 catamaran for your cruise is the pure exhilaration of sailing it.
With its ultra-light construction, powerful hull design, and sail plan inspired by high-performance racing yachts, the ORC57 is responsive, agile at the helm, and delivers an instant sensation of gliding – even in light winds.
In fact, our ORC57 often sails faster than the wind itself. The feeling on board? Absolutely electrifying.
Whether you’re crossing the Mediterranean, cruising through the Greek islands, sailing across the Atlantic, or spending a few weeks in the Caribbean, you’ll get to experience the full potential of our extraordinary sailing yacht.
Avel Vaez is one of a kind – one of the very few performance cruising catamarans that can deliver such an adrenaline rush. With its unique combination of speed and stability, it never fails to impress!
Thanks to the incredible capabilities of the ORC57 Avel Vaez, your cruise becomes more efficient—giving you more time to enjoy life on board and on land.
With faster passages, you can:
Even with a classic cruising itinerary, a fast catamaran offers incredible freedom. Thanks to its sailing efficiency, you can easily reach more distant destinations – far from the usual tourist routes.
That means discovering off-the-beaten-path places that are more authentic, more peaceful, and often far less crowded.
The boat’s impressive speed also means shorter travel times between destinations—so you can make the most of every stop. While a standard charter catamaran might take all day to get there, Avel Vaez will be anchoring in time for lunch!
By arriving early at anchorages – before the other boats – you’ll have first pick of the best spots. Thanks to the catamaran’s shallow draft, that might even mean dropping anchor right near the beach.
You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the destination, wander ashore, explore, or simply relax into the evening—without the pressure of an early departure the next day. And if you’re into kite surfing, wing foiling, scuba diving, stand-up paddleboarding or snorkeling, the ORC57 gives you all the time and freedom you need to dive into your favorite watersports.
Finally, efficient crossings allow you to explore more destinations in the same amount of time.
In just one or two weeks of sailing from Saint Lucia, for example, you’ll cover 1.5 to 2 times more distance than a standard charter catamaran. That means more time spent discovering new places—not just enjoying the sail, but also making the most of each stop along the way.
In short, cruising aboard our ORC57 means a richer, more intense experience – one you’ll never forget.
Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), RORC Caribbean 600, Aegean 600… Avel Vaez is also a race-winning catamaran that gives you the chance to join some of the world’s top sailing events.
Built for speed, our ORC57 offers a rare opportunity to take part in renowned competitions, often alongside experienced and professional skippers. If you’re passionate about sporty sailing, rallies, or regattas, this boat’s performance gives you a real shot at the podium.
Whether you’re crossing the Atlantic or sailing through the Greek or Caribbean waters, you’ll always be guided by a professional crew, ensuring both performance and safety throughout the journey.
In just a few days, six people who shared a passion for sailing became a true team. To me, that was the most remarkable part of the trip!
Please note: The Avel Vaez crew is already full for the ARC 2025 edition. However, registration is now open for the 2026 editions of the RORC Caribbean 600 in the West Indies and the Aegean 600 in Greece.
Interested in learning to sail a high-performance catamaran? Good news: a cruise aboard Avel Vaez can also be a hands-on learning experience, where you build your own skills along the way.
For your introduction to fast sailing, you’ll be guided by Christian, our professional skipper – always eager to share his techniques and expert advice. Christian wasn’t chosen by chance to helm Avel Vaez: with over 20 years of experience, he’s sailed dozens of monohulls and catamarans around the world.
Under his guidance, you’ll learn how to handle the ORC57, fine-tune sail settings, control boat speed, and read the wind – just like a seasoned racer.
On board Avel Vaez, performance never comes at the expense of comfort – quite the opposite.
Both private and shared spaces are safe, spacious, and designed for maximum comfort. Moving around the boat is easy, with several well-sheltered areas—protected from both sun and spray. The four cabins feature generous double beds, and both the saloon and cockpit are equipped with large tables, perfect for gathering and relaxing together.
Ideal for watersports and onboard activities, Avel Vaez also makes it easy to store and transport all the necessary gear.
As for the crew, our catamaran is operated by experienced and passionate professionals. Alongside our skipper Christian, our deckhand-hostess Pavlina will ensure your comfort and safety throughout the cruise. Depending on the itinerary, a third crew member may also join the team.
Together, they’ll provide a high-end service, fully dedicated to making sure your sailing experience lives up to your expectations.
In the end, anything is possible aboard Avel Vaez catamaran. Each trip is fully tailored to the sailing area, available time, the desires of the guests, and of course, the weather conditions.
Without exception, those who’ve sailed on our ORC57 remember it as a truly unique experience on board an impressive catamaran. One-of-a-kind, and unforgettable.
