This third leg of the Mediterranean Sea crossing will take the crew from Palermo on the island of Sicilia to Lefkada island in the Ionian Islands in Greece. After a week and more than 450 nautical miles, Avel Vaez will arrive in Greece!
On this cruise, we target around 65 miles per day including the long leg across the Adriatic Sea, around 170 miles in one of the most interesting crossings of the Med. This crossing is typically windy, and Avel Vaez will quickly put this one behind! The best stopover possible in Vulcano and Taormina as well as the Messine passage will make this cruise unforgettable!
Upon arrival on board, our skipper will give a thorough safety briefing and set sail directly to Vulcano.
You will sail near Vulcano, time permitting, a visit is possible to see the vulcano! Then head toward Messine straight.
We will sail through the most famous strait of Messine. We will observe the special fishing vessels hunting the marlins in the strait.
This is normal and relaxing cruise along the southern coast of Italy and crossing this large gulf on the northwest of the Ionian Sea, before the Adriatic crossing the next day.
This is a serious crossing. With good wind, Avel Vaez will reach her maximum speed.
