  • Departure last weekend of November - Plan to join us three days in advance for safety checks

Avel Vaez took part for the first time in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, the famous transatlantic race organized by the World Cruising Club, at the end of 2024. For its first participation, and despite relatively light winds, our ORC57 was the 3rd multihull to cross the line in the multihull category (real time).

In all, our professional crew and passengers took 14 days, 16 hours and 26 minutes to cover the 3042 nautical miles between Las Palmas in the Canaries and Rodney Bay on the island of Saint Lucia.

In 2025 edition, our time was 12 days, 13 hours and 22 minutes and we covered 3 172 nautical miles at the average speed of 10.52 knots.

We’re looking forward to this year’s ARC to do even better.

What to expect during this year ARC?

The departure is scheduled for the third sunday of the month of November from Las Palmas, and you can board in Las Palmas 2 or 3 days in advance at no extra cost, to make yourself comfortable and get to know our catamaran.

You will then set off on the ocean crossing. Arrival in Saint Lucia is expected two weeks later. You can disembark in Saint Lucia or in Martinique 2-3 days later.

Safety on board

Sailing across the Atlantic Ocean is a dream for many sailors. However, it’s a long-distance sail in very remote areas. Your safety is our No. 1 priority, and our aim is to offer you a safe and enjoyable way to achieve this project!

Avel Vaez operates under the French flag and is certified by the French Navy to carry passengers on ocean crossings. For long-distance and ocean crossings, our flag requires us to embark 3 professional crew members (skipper, first mate, hostess/cook) and a maximum of 4 passengers. Our crew is highly experienced (both in cruising and racing) and certified sailors in France. Sailing aboard Avel Vaez is safe, comfortable and fun!
